Bringing nurses back

Retired nurses report that they would consider returning to the profession if they could schedule their own hours, reduce their hours or patient load, have flexible shift lengths, work in a different unit or site, or act as an educator or mentor to other nurses. Findd’s scheduling capabilities would enable nurses to choose their desired shifts. Findd’s software could easily accommodate variable shift lengths if a hospital chose to honor this request. Having more nurses to choose from, even part-time workers, would help address the shortage while being a cheaper option than relying on contingent labor.

Saving money from reduced contingent labor could also enable a hospital to reallocate those funds towards putting more nurses on the schedule each day and decreasing patient load, thus improving employee retention and satisfaction, and alleviating additional problems contributing to the labor shortage: burnout and attrition.

Additionally, Findd’s software uniquely enables nurses to seamlessly switch units midway through their shift if their assigned unit is overstaffed and another unit (that they are credentialed for) is understaffed. Rewards and badges help incentivize continuing education that gives nurses the skills and training they need to work in another unit or to be in a leadership or mentorship position. Finally, when contingent labor is the only option, Findd’s quick and easy onboarding streamlines and quickens the credentialing process for new temporary hires.
